The Großer and Kleiner Ahornboden are two scenically impressive alpine meadows with old mountain maple stands in the northern Karwendel at the end of the Riss valley, the Eng valley, just before the village of Eng in Tyrol, Austria. The area is overgrown with numerous 300 to 600 year old and very gnarled maple trees and was declared a natural monument in 1927. In 1988 the Großer Ahornboden was declared a protected landscape area as part of the Karwendel Alpine Park.
